is the key information presented in both videos?
"Our video talks about the benefits of breastfeeding - both from
a medical perspective and a health perspective. We call it a "Why-
to" breastfeeding video. 'The Benefits of Breastfeeding' is
not a "how-to" tape. You won't find a
discussion about positioning or latching on. You will find
up-to-date information on I.Q. tests and what the American Academy of
Pediatrics recommends about breastfeeding."
What
is the biggest difference between the versions?
"The biggest difference between the two versions is time.
The original version is 21 minutes in length and the new shortened version
is 14 minutes in length."
Why does Eagle Video Productions, Inc offer a shortened
version?
"We decided to offer this new version because lots of WIC programs
requested it. They wanted a shortened presentation for their early
childbirth classes which last only 30 minutes in some cases."
Does the shorter version offer less information?
"No. The five distinct segments are still intact with all the
medical and health information that has garnered so many national awards
and approval from breastfeeding organizations worldwide."
What did you edit out from the original version to make the shorter
version?
"First I want to say how very difficult it was to shorten a video
after working on it for so long and receiving such nice accolades.
But here's what we did ... we shortened the opening considerably - just a
few short shots of breastfeeding mothers with music and then to the
title. In the interest of time we also did away with the
introduction to Dr. Ruth Lawrence where we learn she breastfed nine of her
own kids. The first time we see Dr. Lawrence she is making her first
comments about breastfeeding. And finally, when there was duplication of
thought or topic from interviews with our mothers we presented only
one."
Which version is best?
"I think the long version should be considered if time is not an
issue in a classroom setting. The shorter version is perfect
if there are serious time restraints in the teaching setting.
Keep in mind that both versions incorporate our award-winning
instructional design of five separate and distinct segments. If
necessary, educators can easily stop the video at the end of any segment
for further discussion."
Are there cost differences?
"The price is the same for the long version and the shorter
version. Just $59.00 each plus $5.00 for shipping and
handling."
